Sittings

Notice Paper

The business of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is conducted regularly based on a calendar that is carefully planned and executed.

The planned itinerary of the House of Representatives is laid out in the most current “Notice Paper”, which typically lays out the sitting plan for a week or two, sometimes up to a month. The “Notice Paper” itemizes the business of the House of Representatives for the period and is circulated among Honorable Members.

The current Notice Paper of the House of Representatives has been prepared to delineate the business of the House of Representatives for the current period.

Order Paper

The “Order Paper” sets out the particular agenda of any one House of Representatives sitting. It is different from the Notice Paper in that while the former deals with the calendar of the House of Representatives for a 1-2 week period, the ‘Order Paper” sets out the issues or business of the day for a particular sitting.
