Welcome to the Nigeria House of Representatives

This site will give you an overview of the House of Representatives of the 7th National Assembly (2011-2015), the lower chamber of the National Assembly -the supreme law-making body of the land. The House of Representatives of the 7th National Assembly was inaugurated on the 6th June 2011. Out of the 360 members of the House of Representatives, 100 were re-elected while 260 were elected for the first time

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE TAKES ON THE ENVIRONMENT
The House Of Representatives Committee on Environment has organized a two day conference on Managing our environment for a sustainable and secure future. This conference is another bold step by the House of Reps to constitute a platform for the legislative arm, along with the Executive, Civil Societies, Private Sector and all stakeholders locally and abroad to deliberate on the all important topic of the environment as it affects Nigeria.

HOUSE MOVES TO STOP ASUP NATIONWIDE STRIKE
The House of Representatives during Thursday's plenary session urged the Federal Ministry of Education to find lasting solution to the plight of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP). The resolution came following a motion moved by Hon. Kingsley Chinda (Rivers).

HOUSE WEIGHS IN ON CONFLICT BETWEEN NCC AND MCSN
The House of Representatives has directed its Committees on Justice and Judiciary to conduct a joint investigative hearing on the activities of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) and engage the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN), Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) and other stakeholders to address the issue of perceived monopoly in collecting society business in the country.
